With each new year that comes in, I like to sit back to reflect on the year passing and the lessons I have learned. A lot of people say “New Year. New Me.” but what a lot of people fail to realize is without learning from your mistakes and healing from your pain, you cannot grow into a “New Me”. Also, celebrating yet being humble about your accomplishments, setting new goals for the new year and finding ways to achieve them without stepping on someone to accomplish them are positive ways to begin your new chapter. I would like to briefly share with you my reflection of 2017.
I really wouldn’t say that these situations are lessons learned but more like a refresher course. I have been on the grid for 12 long years and have always known that people in SL are bat shit crazy, FAKE AF, narcissistic, attention whores, drama seekers, mean girls/boys, YOU NAME IT!! Despite these undesirable personalities, being my sun shinny self, I tried to let my guard down and give people a chance to prove me wrong. Let’s just say that was a huge mistake. I have already left those situations in the past and wish those people the best. HOWEVER; I will be heading into 2018 with my old routine in practice: keeping to myself and the few people I fucks with, make these coins and be creative.
I am always the first to admit my faults so I will say that with those situations, I learned that I don’t have the best temper. I tend to be emotional and react swiftly to situations while wearing my heart on my sleeve. Overthinking is a skill of mine (LOL) and once I have my mind made up, it is hard to convince me otherwise. I will do my best to keep calm and not take certain things personal during 2018 and on.
This year was a great year for me professionally. I was in limbo about what I wanted to accomplish at the beginning of the year. Taking photos has always been a passion of mine and I was already blogging here and there for fun so I decided to regularly blog. As I sit here with a few days left in the year and reflect on my posts, I realize that Fashionably Frugal has accomplished more than I imagined. I didn’t set goals for the blog because I didn’t believe I would be noticed in the sea of SL fashion blogs. Guess what? My sponsor list grew from 1 sponsor to 13 (thanks for believing in me!), my Flickr following reached 1K, I was nominated in several categories for The Bloggies (which I am humbled and surprised by) but most importantly, I learned so much about Second Life photography. My goals for 2018 are to continue learning, improve my styling and HAVE FUN!
I wish you all the very best in 2018. May the new year bring you love, support, peace, happiness and all that your heart desires. God bless!
